Irrigation
Irrigation in Tampa Bay
From basic to sophisticated, we design and install the irrigation your lawn and landscape need.
Quick answerZuzack Outdoor Design inspects and repairs sprinkler systems and installs drip, subsurface and smart irrigation with programmable controllers and rain sensors for Tampa Bay homes and businesses.
Two seasons, one smart schedule
Wet season
May to October
Hot and wet. Overwatering wastes water, and money.
Dry season
November to April
Mild and dry. Underwatering can damage or kill a lawn.
15,000
Gallons a year
The most an average home can save with a WaterSense labeled controller.
Required
Rain sensors
Florida requires automatic systems to stop after enough rain.
Sprinkler systems and repair
Sprinkler systems mimic natural rainfall by spraying water through above-ground or in-ground heads. They cover large lawn areas well and can use fixed spray, rotary or impact heads.
We inspect existing systems and make the repairs they need, so every zone waters where it should and nothing sprays the house, the driveway or your lights.

“They did an amazing job on improving my flowerbed and converting some sprinkler heads. The staff was great and the pricing was very reasonable.”

Drip irrigation
Drip irrigation delivers water directly to plant roots through a network of tubes and emitters, minimizing evaporation and runoff. It's a good fit for beds, shrubs and container plants.
Subsurface irrigation
Subsurface irrigation buries pipes below the soil surface to deliver water directly to the root zone. It significantly reduces evaporation, keeps foliage dry to lower disease risk, and is excellent for water conservation.
Smart controllers and rain sensors
Smart irrigation uses weather sensors, soil moisture monitors and timers to automate watering based on real conditions. That maximizes efficiency, reduces waste and adapts to changing weather.
Florida law requires automatic sprinkler systems to have working technology that interrupts them after enough rain (Florida Statutes §373.62 (opens in a new tab)). We install programmable controllers with a rain sensor so the system waters regularly but not after it has rained.

Irrigation questions
Does my sprinkler system need a rain sensor?
Yes. Florida law requires automatic irrigation systems to have working technology that stops watering after enough rain (Florida Statutes §373.62 (opens in a new tab)). We install programmable controllers with a rain sensor.
When should I water in Tampa Bay?
Tampa Bay has two seasons. The hot, wet season runs May through October, and the mild, dry season runs November through April. Always follow the current watering-day rules from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (opens in a new tab) and your county.
How much water can a smart controller save?
According to EPA WaterSense (opens in a new tab), replacing a clock-based controller with a WaterSense labeled one can save an average home up to 15,000 gallons a year.
Can you fix my existing sprinklers?
Yes. We inspect sprinkler systems and make the repairs they need, including converting heads.
